Well hello there, I'm not sure how you've stumbled upon Smidge but I'm sure you're just dying to know all about me and my blog! 

​

In 2001, my mother gave birth to an annoying jaundiced lump and decided to call it Ellen. So if you're any good at maths you can also work out that I'm 21! 

I'm in my third year of University studying Fashion Communications and Promotions at Nottingham Trent University, which is a long away from my little origin town of Enniskillen in Northern Ireland, however I didn't mind relocating so far to live my fantasy of working in Fashion ever since I watched Ugly Betty at age 8. (Yes, Ugly Betty really did inspire my interest in the fashion industry and I really wish I was joking about that).

For some reason I've also been a lover of writing, probably because I can never shut my mouth discussing my thoughts with enough people! So I love to write about anything and everything. After umming, ahhing and getting over my crippling anxiety of putting myself out there, it was natural to start a blog to try and put some of my uni skills to good use!

Smidge is pretty much an all rounder blog, with a focus on mostly fashion related articles (well duh - I'm studying it) but sprinkled with lifestyle, opinions and just general ramblings from the brain of Smidge! 

​

Smidge also has no meaning- its simply my dad's nickname for me, but I like how ~mysterious~ it is, like Goop and Poosh. 

​

The aim is for my readers to just take 5 minutes of their day to read a little article to make them smile, laugh, think or even just spark an interest to start reading more!
